:: Rows and columns of geometric guls, also referred to as the elephant's footprint, bearing large primitive yet detailed design nuances with alternating coloration interior blossoms and ram's horn stylized minor guls between. Main border at the top and end in pomegranate design top views and unusual in size, proportions, and piled end finishing, often found to be in a Kilim plain weave but knotted in this example. Long stapled wool with soft pile, sheen, and silk-like luster. Colors and shades include: Madder root red, navy blue, antique ivory, beige, dusty rose, mallard green, and more. Condition notes: Areas of pile, knot heads and foundation. Tatter to sides and ends. Multiple scattered holes throughout, none any larger than a quarter in size. One or two minor splits on one end. Recently professionally cleaned ready for in-home use! Many years of enjoyment to come with this hand knotted Turkmen square rug made in Turkmenistan circa 1910's vintage. Size measures 3'3" x 3'6".
