:: From the Northeastern area of Persia, now modern day Iran, the region of Khorossan is well known for weaving carpets of specific form, mainly those featuringlarge center medallions and covered field designs as are found in this carpet. With a very intricate design and distressed character, the foundation is a part of the carpet's texture as well as aesthetic. Colors include bronze, gold, beige, antique ivory. Recently professionally backed to a linen canvas mounting for added longevity and conservational effort. Charming and unique example made to look similar to carpets with many more years of age. Many years of enjoyment to come with this carpet! Recently professionally cleaned, ready for in-home use. This vintage 1940's distressed Khorossan hand knotted in Iran measures 7'5" x 10'6".
