:: Allover design with cross section palmettes. Sprawling character with delicate intricacies, making this a fascinating carpet to study all nuances. Symmetry within an asymmetric mapping: Very small minor medallion off-center in conjunction with the cartoon of the continuing repeat, which would otherwise be cut short in a perfectly landed repeat of a traditional carpet. Center field is rose/terracotta with expressive serrated leaves in the teal/green family. Navy blue throughout. Heavy use of bronze and gold with every inch of the design perfectly balanced with positive and negative space whether by design presence or absence. Many years of enjoyment to come with this carpet! Recently professionally cleaned, ready for in-home use. This vintage 1920's vintage Mahal hand knotted in Iran measures 9'3" x 11'9".
