:: A very old antique Bijar conservatively dating to the 1880s. Colors are phenomenal, particularly the numerous shades of indigo blue, saffron yellow, reds, aubergine and more. The design is hypnotizing. Among the finer Bijar rugs made even during its time: A very fine weave, wool warp, wool pile and wool weft (dyed red). Due to the fine knotting and construction the carpet drapes like a blanket. Stunning in person, ideal for restoration, low traffic area in the home, or as a wall hanging. Fair condition with some end loss and wear. The carpet is soft and supple across, and folds like a blanket. Recently professionally cleaned and ready for use as noted above. Size measures 5'4" x 6'8".
