Phenomenal massive center medallion with intricate sprawling scrolled tendrils, finishing in blossomed floral cross-sections. At either opposing end are additional roundel and samovar stylized finials, atop a sprawling open field. Fantastic pattern and rhythm in the main border bearing cross section lotus flowers, palmettes, and a delicate vine surround all wrapped by an outer minor border in a germinating plant reciprocating pawn motif in contrasting coloration. Colors and shades include: Wine red with a hint of cochineal, mallard green, antique ivory, navy blue, forest green, deep gold, beige, sand, ivory, coffee brown, and more. Condition notes: Even original pile height across. Original side cord selvages intact. Fully secured sides and ends. This rug is among a handful of carpets offered for sale for the first time in over half a century from a prestigious New England collection. Recently professionally cleaned ready for in-home use!
