:: On sale, marked down from $435, with a folk art look to it, this is a completely one of a kind and precious vintage handmade American Flag that we would identify as a rag rug or a braided type of rug, knotted together and created out of what appears to be old bed linens or sheets. Will look amazing as a rug on the floor, a loose wall-hanging, or behind glass framed on your wall. No matter how you choose to display it, this is a completely unique piece of Americana. Likely vintage circa late 30's/40's, this playful piece (that looks like a piece of folk art) was modeled after the Betsy Ross 13 star flag, and every detail of it is in the spirit of the original flag. The little white stars that are sewed onto the piece add to its whimsical look. This American flag "rag rug" art piece was made with so much care, love, and precision. It boasts beautiful craftsmanship, and it has a spirit of American history about it that is absolutely uncanny. And it certainly seems as though there is not another one just like it out there. Almost a perfectly sweet-sized square, this piece measures in at 3'6" x 3'2". Condition notes: :: The rug is not worn, but the there is a section at the top that is slightly frayed and a little faded (but still very much intact), and with all of the material that was used, you can see some strings all about from the fraying sheets over time. All can be seen in the photographs.
