7x9.5 Antique Fragment Mahal Carpet

:: Large scale oversized palmettes with fire-like outline contour atop a covered field of four legged animals, a few scattered birds in abundance, and a shepherd/herdsman in the upper right corner. Dragon-like drawn minor floral arabesques, rather primitive for the type and age especially given the animal features throughout. Colors and shades include: Madder root red, charcoal, navy blue, pale tangerine orange, pale sunflower yellow, coffee brown, platinum, dusty lime green, and more. Condition notes: Mostly even wear across to knot heads with foundation showing through. Most of the original side cord selvages are intact or restored. Fully secured sides and ends. Extensive work throughout with concealed reinforcement to both length and width, reducing it from its original scale to the interior. Recently professionally cleaned ready for in-home use! Many years of enjoyment to come with this hand knotted Persian Mahal carpet made in Persia circa 1910's vintage. Size measures 6'10" x 9'5".
