:: Super unique small square Senneh or Malayer, likely a sample for larger scale design motifs. Field is flanked by oversized double medallions in asymmetric weight and contour bearing palmette style relief, one with a curvilinear cloudband interior fill. Main border in floral cross sections. Colors and shades include: Madder root red, deep sapphire blue, ivory, pale coffee brown, sand, teal, dusty blush and more. Condition notes: Areas of pile and knot heads. Most of the original side cord selvages are intact or restored. Fully secured sides and ends. Light reduction to both outer end minor borders. A few scattered white knots found throughout. Recently professionally cleaned ready for in-home use! Many years of enjoyment to come with this hand knotted Persian Malayer square rug mat made in Persia circa 1920's vintage. Size measures 2'1" x 2'2".
