:: Wow! If only this trunk could talk what a story it would tell. Wonderful dovetail joints, great metal work wrapping the wide-plank perfect orange / red patina hardwood! Just a gorgeous accent piece with fantastic allure. Even has an antique skeleton key hole. Inside tag with partially legible signature "Bertoli Francesco" and date of 1769. Numerous labels stuck on, including one from the "NO MARK BUREAU" sometime in the early 1900s. Could be a great coffee table, or decorative chest to fill with memories. Unsure on exact age although pre-1840's seems apparent. Some missing metal work on one edge, one handle missing. Curling of metal in other areas. Latch raises and lowers although hinge is partially cracked. Presentable & usable condition with great decorative appeal.. Measures (outside) 28" long x 16" wide and 16" tall.
