1.5x1.5 Antique Caucasian Soumac Square Rug Mat

:: Unidirectional pictorial design motif with checkered blossoms and inwardly facing four legged animals in the main field surrounding a central geometric starburst design element. At the top of the rug is an inscription of two dates, one in the Hijri calendar showing numerals 1331 in the upper right which is then converted in the upper left corner into the Gregorian calendar date of 1914. Colors and shades include: Navy blue, madder root red, antique ivory, cream, tangerine orange, sky blue, blush, beige, and more. Condition notes: Weave across in mostly original condition. Most of the original side cord selvages are intact or restored. Fully secured sides and ends. Multiple repairs in varying degrees of expertise. Recently professionally cleaned ready for in-home use!
