Unusually wide range in coloration, fantastic abrashes throughout, and excellent saturation to all the natural dye shades. Likely a custom made-to-order carpet from a time when this was unusual. Colors and shades include: Brick red, madder root red, dusty cherry red, wine red, mallard green, emerald green, mint green, sky blue, sapphire blue, blush, aubergine, mauve, pale gold, saffron yellow, charcoal, beige, and more. Condition notes: Even original pile height across. Original side cord selvages intact. Fully secured sides and ends. Light signs of use in the corner and spot areas of selvage. One very old stain on the plain woven kilim. This rug is among a handful of carpets offered for sale for the first time in over half a century from a prestigious New England collection. Recently professionally cleaned ready for in-home use! Many years of enjoyment to come with this hand knotted Persian Fereghan carpet made in Persia circa 1870's vintage.
