:: Very, very hard to find, stunning and elegant antique Farahan / Farahan Sarouk Persian rug from between 1890-1910. This vintage piece boasts an incredibly fine weave with choice wool used that has a beautiful silky effect. Very soft and supple, this rug is the epitome of a cherished fine and luxurious Persian carpet that is honestly a piece of art for the floor or wall. The design is of repeating vertical stripes to represent channels of running water, with horizontal striations of abrash bringing a three dimensional rainbow effect into the piece, accelerating the appearance of movement. Colors of gold, black, and blue, are neutral and would work well in a light-colored space or even one with funky colors surrounding it. With the unique size of 4'4.5" x 3'2", this rug is an outstanding piece for a collector or for someone who can appreciate a finely woven Persian rug. Condition notes: the ends have been professionally overcast, and as seen in photographs, there is a bit of wear and a slight discoloration in the center that is barely noticeable in person.
