:: Further discounts cannot be applied to this item. Antique Persian Fereghan / Malayer carpet in oversize palace measurements of ~ 13' x 20'. There are several unique aspects to this carpet which include color and design. Carpets of this type and age are generally found to have a red or dark navy field. This carpet however, features a naturally green/teal field, which is considered a sacred color by weavers. For this reason, green is seldom used for more than light accents, and is rather uncommon to a carpet's predominant field color unless intended for special owners / orders. Further, the design in this type are less frequently found allover pomegranate design as opposed to the classic Herati motif. Great vivid colors, especially in the border, featuring cool saffron yellow, pleasant mauve, wonderful madder root rust/red and many more. Multiple areas of rewoven restoration in varying softer tones adds to the feeling of age and unique character consistent with older restorations on a carpet certainly over 100 years old or quite possibly older.
