2.5x2.5 Antique Belouch Square Rug Mat

:: An oversized square middle Belouch bag in large format with covered floral top views and pomegranate relief wrapped by germinating vines in the main border with great contrast throughout. The reverse side features striated plain weave with bands in varying thickness including a serpent design running through one of them. Edges are wrapped in a very coarse goat hair, with possible horse hair as well. A super unique intact survivor, rare to find. Colors and shades include: Navy blue, aubergine, ivory, dusty teal, pale coffee brown, and more. Condition notes: Large areas of foundation showing through with wear across to knot heads. Secure sides, fully secured ends. Light staining and blemishes scattered across the weaving, commensurate with type and age. Ideally suited for a lower traffic area deeper inside the home or use as a throw for a chairback / wall hanging off the floor. Recently professionally cleaned ready for in-home use!
