3x4.5 Vintage Serbend Rug

:: Covered field in partial Herati motif arranged in staggered rows of minor blossoms, germinating plants, and floral buds. Main border in a boteh vine design reminiscent of Zili Sultan design carpets of the 19th century. Colors and shades include: Navy blue, tomato red, beige, sand, sky blue, tangerine orange, blush, saffron yellow, and more. Condition notes: Areas of pile, knot heads and foundation. Mostly secure sides and ends. One area of significant old moth etching with recess to knot heads. Multiple scattered areas of moth etching throughout, although mostly even pile across. Likely reduced of its original outer minor border. Several small splits, less than a quarter of an inch each. Recently professionally cleaned ready for in-home use! Many years of enjoyment to come with this hand knotted Persian Serbend rug made in Persia circa 1930's vintage. Size measures 3'1" x 4'7".
