Print tear sheet:: Amazing distressed center medallion Persian Bijar with expressive center medallion and open camel hair field. Wool warps and wefts classify this as a Halvai Bijar, some of the more sought after for the supple character, fine weave, and particularly vivid natural dyes. While mostly symmetrical in character, one end features a top mehrab which is not reciprocated on the other end: a unique touch, certainly an indication for intended village use as opposed to export based on type and era. Ends and sides professionally secured, and center areas stabilized with plain weave foundation. Unique renderings and artistic merit throughout. Amazing shades of medium aqua blue, saffron yellow, blush, teal, charcoal, coffee browns and mallard green. Recently professionally cleaned ready for in-home use! Many years of enjoyment to come with this vintage hand knotted Persian Bijar rug woven circa 1890's. Exact size measures 4'6" x 5'7".
