:: Triple center medallion south west Persian Afshar with floral cross-sections and meandering vine leaf and pinwheel borders. Afshar carets were typically woven with a wool pile and wool foundation up through the early 1920's. At and around the early 1920's and forward they were comprised of wool pile and cotton foundation. This particular rug features warps which spin cotton and wool together, suggesting it's part of the transition period of 1915-1920. Colors and shades include: Brick red, dark navy blue, sky blue, pomegranate red, saffron yellow, and more. Condition notes: Threadbare areas and large hole close to the center of the carpet. Tatter to ends and sides. Recently professionally cleaned ready for in-home use! Many years of enjoyment to come with this hand knotted Persian Afshar rug circa first quarter 20th century vintage. Exact size measures 4'2" x 5'11".
