Zigzag design elements through the center often implies the movement of water when woven in parallel such as with this carpet. We believe this rug may be a modern interpretation of the earth's elements. Full circles, moon, sun, water and crescent shapes. Likely woven in the area of Sivas, Turkey. Colors include soft rose and pastel shades of mint green, light brown, beige, and sea foam. Some distress to center although mostly soft and silk-like wool. Many years of enjoyment to come with this rug! Recently professionally cleaned, ready for in-home use. This vintage 1960's distressed hand knotted in Turkey measures 4'9" x 8'1".
