:: Authentic and early example of a Fereghan. Classic allover covered Herati design atop a dark indigo/navy blue field. A plethora of colors, all in rich brilliant shades, including indigo blue, sky blue, light blue, mallard green, brick red, saffron yellow, camel, cherry red, mauve, and blush. Recently professionally cleaned, with fully restored plain weave foundation. Professionally reduced on on end, likely performed many decades ago. Years ago Charles Jacobsen cited in one of his books that true Fereghans are few and far between. This particular example is precisely a Fereghan with all signature traits, especially that of the pale lime green border with recess oxidation to the wool. Many years of enjoyment to come with this antique Fereghan carpet, hand knotted in Persia, conservatively dating to the circa 1870's. Size measures 5'1" x 9'6".
