:: Antique Turkmen carpet in an unusual larger size. Carpets of this type and age are often woven by nomadic tribes. Due in part to migratory nature, these carpets were often created on looms of manageable travel size that were easy to transport with changes of season and travels. An interesting point of conversation for a carpet nearly double the average size for this type of weaving. In conjunction with the highly decorative motifs of spirals and intricately interpretations of repeating guls, this distressed carpet showing numerous areas of exposed foundation and wear shows age on its sleeve! Mostly intact without significant reduction to sides and ends. Many years of enjoyment to come with this carpet! Recently professionally cleaned, ready for in-home use. This vintage 1920's antique Yomud measures 5'10" x 9'5".
