:: Brilliant example of a veramin design/early Qom carpet. Veramin designs date back many centuries, shared by weavers from Armenia to Persia, India and more. To the Persians, the style showcases a rhythmic, repeating Mina Khani design which is comprised of a centrally oriented splayed floral and palmette motif surrounded by two separate square formations of the same. Each set is interconnected by bowed tendrils interconnecting all elements. In what otherwise may be seen as a somewhat regimented pattern with high repetition, in this carpet the abrashes and nuances inherent with hand knotted character compounded with texture add a tremendous dynamic to the overall aesthetic. Amazing shades of striated stretches in light blue, powder blue and sky blue throughout the field. Wooded tones are found throughout, although most stunning is the pairing of soft faded rust and cinnabar red. The main border is comprised of simplified outlines of pomegranates and flocks of birds symbolizing prosperity and the pursuit of passion.Fully secured sides and ends. Even wear across to knot heads.Recently professionally cleaned ready for in-home use! Many years of enjoyment to come with this vintage hand knotted Persian Veramin carpet woven circa 1930's. Exact size measures 7'1" x 10'9".
