Print tear sheet:: Unique antique Sultanabad carpet featuring large horizontally oblong shaped medallion with soft mallard green and terra cotta throughout. Unusual allover herati covered field. Reciprocating the center medallion are quarter maps of the same design comprising each corner spandrel. Brilliant yet subtle soft powder/sky blue border with samovar design wrapped in minor borders of meandering leaf and splayed floral design. Although worn, the carpet does have areas of luminous like qualities similar in character to silk. Multiple areas of fold wear and small quarter size mending. Large re-woven areas. Distressed aesthetic commensurate with age. Fully secured sides and ends. Recently professionally cleaned ready for in-home use! Many years of enjoyment to come with this hand knotted distressed Persian Sultanabad carpet circa 1890's. Exact size measures 9' x 12'5".
