:: Bold, beautiful, and playful Persian Hamadan or Hamadan rug vintage circa 1925. Quite a unique and fun design. Main field color in a deep rose / cranberry (from the dark side) lightly painted in the spirit of many Lilihan and Sarouk carpets of the era. Main medallion of deep indigo blue. Most inner diamond centered on an ivory field features a jewel rose, quite vivid and complimentary to the main field adding depth and charisma, with arrows shooting out from the center adding a bit of a tribal look. Incredibly sweet carpet with bold but subdued spirit and charm to it. This is an example of the finer knotted rugs from this vintage and region of Persia. Ends meticulously finished with proper overcast to prevent loss. The carpet is healthy, very original, clean + ready for use with a silky sheen to the wool. Some variation in red due to light and dark sides, as well as hand done process of painting the red tones soon after weaving as an effort to cater to more popular demand. As with many village rugs, this carpet is slightly wider on one end than the other. As smaller rugs are created on village looms, the top mounted warps often converge minute amounts as tension tightens making the bottom portion of the carpet slightly wider, and the top slightly narrow. Some low areas of wear, although allover even across. Measures in the scatter size of 2'8" x 3'11".
