:: What a gem this antique turn of the century pull down map is displaying "The United States and its new Possessions" on canvas. The new possessions include Puerto Rico, Cuba, Hawaii, Philippine Islands and Alaska and what truly makes this school map so special is that it was made in 1901, just one year before Cuba officially became independent. Published by The National Publishing Company, this is quite the historical map that has amazingly survived its 112 year life! Fantastic color and overall look. Condition: Delicate but fair condition in terms of colors and canvas structuring although there are some portions missing on the bottom corners and some overall chewed up/fragile areas along the bottom. Original top wooden dowel remains intact. Full size measures 40" x 38.5" with dowel included in measurement.
