:: Incredible reverse painting on glass depicting the Titanic, vintage 1990, by well renowned artist Milton Bond (1918-2010, Connecticut) - signed and dated in bottom corner and also in pen on the back. Excellent condition, featuring a title plate in the bottom middle that reads TITANIC OUTWARD BOUND 1912. Born in NYC, Milton Bond was one of very little folk artists working on the old time technique of reverse-glass painting. Before his painting career, he spent much of his life by the sea as an oyster-man and sailor. His work is in numerous major collections including those of the Smithsonian Institute, the Museum of American Folk Art, New York City, the Henri Rousseau Museum, Paris, and the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library. Excellent vintage condition. Size measures 21.5" wide x 17.5" tall (not including frame), 25.5" wide x 21.5" tall.
