4.5x6.5 Antique Fine Isfahan Rug

:: Tree of Life design motif with a main central vase at the bottom portion of the main field. An elaborate rendering with blossomed buds, flowers with multi-colored petals, and perched birds with two pairs even feeding each other a snake. The main border has a forest scene in similar spirit to the central field design motif but in addition features longer legged birds, a leopard with its captured prey, and a pair of inwardly facing rabbits. Abrashes across. Colors and shades include: Ivory, cochineal red, powder blue, sapphire blue, pale coffee brown, sandalwood, beige, cream, mauve, and more. Condition notes: Areas of pile, knot heads and foundation. Mostly secure sides and ends. One end measures 4'5" whereas the opposing measures 4'7". This variation is within normal margins for hand knotted rugs of this type, age, and size. Small moth nibbles scattered throughout although subtle and only seen under very close inspection. Photos are pre-wash and side selvage finishing to be an optioned preference by the buyer at point of purchase.
