Special Notice From Shop Owners

:: An Old New House original: "The New Yorker Chair" -- this is a completely one-of-a-kind hand-crafted decorative chair / side table that is made up of wood + none other than vintage April 1966 New Yorker magazine ads + articles. Mainly inspired by the Risom chair and with a passion for reusing old objects when we create new ones, we weaved these vintage magazine pages overtop of frames that we built and created the sturdy wooden chair frame separately to then combine the 3 all together for this truly unique final product. This chair is meant for decorative purposes or to be used as a side table, as the woven magazine base will not support a great deal of weight. We suggest its use to be for storing books, magazines, or to be put in a vestibule to drape your coat over or to place your bag on after a long day of work. The uses are endless, and it is even just simply fun to look at as a three-dimensional art-piece that carries with it the aesthetic of the 1960's. Check out all of our great items in our shop + contact us if you are interested in a custom order, as we can make a chair similar to this one usable for sitting.
