3x10 Antique Serab Rug Runner

:: A late fourth quarter of the 19th century Serab runner shows a muted beige ground with four large stepped diamond medallions in alternating blue and red, each filled with geometric detailing and linked by small motifs. The field is framed by a wide border of repeating chevron and zigzag bands in red, blue and turquoise with a dark guard, and the overall composition is balanced and rhythmic along the length. Colors and shades include: Camel, madder root red, sky blue, chocolate brown, aubergine purple, charcoal, ivory, dusty gold, powder blue and more Condition notes: Areas of pile, knot heads and foundation. Most of the original side cord selvages are intact or restored. Fully secured sides and ends. Light reduction to one end. Many localized areas of repairs in varying degrees of expertise scattered throughout. Slight curve / bow. Recently professionally cleaned ready for in-home use!
