5x6.5 Antique Bijar Rug

:: Center medallion with intricate clusters of paisley botehs stemming from a central floral motif wrapped by a finned main medallion relief adorned at either opposing end by arrowed finials atop an open abrashed ground and sharp lightning serrated end field spandrel overlays in a partial Herati design rendering. Main border in a very clearly drawn turtle samovar design motif with a mythological a deer head rendering from either side interconnected floral leave vine motif. Classic salt and peppering of color fills in two paired shades in frequently alternating knotting. Colors and shades include: Cobalt blue, blush, pale ruby red grapefruit, ivory, gold, coffee brown and more. Condition notes: Areas of pile and knot heads. Most of the original side cord selvages are intact or restored. Mostly secure sides and ends. Original macrame partially intact. Slight contour to shape, within normal margin for type and age. Recently professionally cleaned ready for in-home use! Many years of enjoyment to come with this hand knotted Persian Bijar rug made in Persia circa 1920's vintage. Size measures 5' x 6'3".
