5x6 Antique Persian Senneh Product Description and Details
:: An antique hand knotted Persian Senneh ca. 1890. Very tight weave with classic center medallion and allover herati motif. A carpet is a unique survivor with great color. Note the unusual remains of a purple selvage in silk. Not all of the finer Senneh carpets were in silk or featured silk, however, the fact that the original selvage of this rug was silk serves as a further indicator (aside from the great colors, quality and design) of having likely been woven with the best-of-type in its age/type group.Very low mostly even wear pile and only one area of exposed foundation at the top border.Recently professionally cleaned, ready for in-home use. Carpet measures approximately 4'10" x 6'3".
