5x8 Antique Caucasian Carpet

:: Open field absent of any design wrapped by wide banded borders in patterned repeat in design motif although unpatterned design color fill. On the outer perimeter the entire carpet is wrapped by a decorative and well-balanced pawn design motif in red and blue. Colors and shades include: Madder root red, indigo blue, ivory, chocolate brown, and more. Condition notes: Areas of knot heads paired with hard isolated etching to foundation with numerous foundation threads surfaced. Several small regions of mending and darning. Fully secured sides and ends. Recently professionally cleaned ready for in-home use! Many years of enjoyment to come with this hand knotted Caucasian carpet made in the Caucasus region circa 1895-1910 vintage. Size measures 5'3" x 8'1".
