7.5x10.5 Vintage Distressed Turkmen Carpet

:: A Turkmen carpet from the late second quarter of the 20th century presents an all-over field of repeating guls arranged in neat rows, each framed by a thin line and set against a muted ground. The composition is enclosed by a wide border of repeating diamond and geometric motifs that echoes the fields vocabulary. The overall effect is restrained and graphic, with the pattern continuing consistently to the edges. Colors and shades include: Sand, beige, pale coffee brown, dusty powder blue, faded sapphire blue, pale bronze, gold and more. Condition notes: Even wear across to knot heads with faint foundation showing through. Most of the original side cord selvages are intact or restored. Fully secured sides and ends. Light reduction to both ends. Light scattered white knots across the weaving. Recently professionally cleaned ready for in-home use!
