7.5x9 Vintage Distressed Mehrivan Carpet

:: A late second quarter of the 20th century Mehrivan with a unique allover center field that reads as anchored without a partial shadow medallion loosely defined by a central minor floral blossom and shadow scrolled serrated leaves in shadow form The motif is covered in angular geometric interlocking vines, oversized germinating tiered blossoms and large-scale scrolled serrated leaves. The allover drawing carries through to a broad border that echoes the fields geometric vocabulary in a muted, low-contrast palette, giving the piece a cohesive, quietly graphic presence. Colors and shades include: Antique ivory, beige, sand, dusty teal, faded powder blue, pale coffee brown and more. Condition notes: Mostly even wear across to knot heads with faint foundation showing through. Most of the original side cord selvages are intact or restored. Fully secured sides and ends. Light reduction to both ends. Recently professionally cleaned ready for in-home use! Many years of enjoyment to come with this hand knotted Persian Mehrivan carpet made in Persia circa 1950's vintage. Size measures 7'4" x 9'.
