:: Finely woven rug with repeating gul motif/elephant footprint design atop a rich madder root red field. Tremendous detail and intricate design with flowing harmony and unique artistic rendering. Of particular interest exists the asymmetry in what appears to be symmetric weaving at brief glance. Note the alternating border designs on either side, and more specifically the seemingly random alternating coloration of each floral gul where the weaver has unpatterned colorfills of mallard green and navy blue. Other colors include ivory, purple, and a brilliant red rust. Original full pile across with minimal signs of use. Fully secured sides and ends. Recently professionally cleaned ready for in-home use! Many years of enjoyment to come with this antique hand knotted Turkmenistan Tekke Bokhara carpet woven circa 1915's. Exact size measures 6'11" x 10'.
