:: Heriz carpets are often characterized by their strong use of traditional, bold use of colors typically in the blue and red family. Often examples are found to have large simplified geometric medallions and motifs. However, in this example, dissimilar to other similar carpets of age and genre, the design is predominantly allover with compartmentalized outlines within the confines of the field and a small minor center medallion to frame the rug. The carpet displays a distressed aesthetic which is characterized by low pile and areas of exposed foundation. The colors themselves have been drawn down, and done so to reveal subtle brilliance in what shows a lovely shade of rose and a charcoal blue as opposed to traditional, brilliant, power color tones. Enjoy this carpet as a unique example of a coveted weaving area with great aesthetic and deocrative value. Many years of enjoyment to come with this carpet! Recently professionally cleaned, ready for in-home use. This vintage 1930's vintage Heriz hand knotted in Iran measures 8'6" x 11'6".
