Print tear sheet

:: Classic Heriz area weaving more appropriately attributed to Ahar village region. The most perceptible difference is the geometric rectilinear character with more overt outlines of curvilinear shape and contour. Relating to the latter, note the stylized ram horns in each corner spandrel in addition to arabesques and most notably the center medallion in an ivory oblong shape. Colors include cherry red field, blush inset border, and mallard green spandrels. Other colors include ivory, abrashes of medium, powder and sky blue, gold and navy. Areas of heavy distress on both front and back. Some tatter to original side cord selvages. Fully secured ends. Recently professionally cleaned ready for in-home use! Many years of enjoyment to come with this hand knotted distressed Persian Ahar Heriz carpet circa 1940's. Exact size measures 8'2" x 11'9". As with many handmade carpets there are variations: one end measures 8'2" and the other end measures 7'11".
