:: Somewhat simplified, albeit detailed, interpretation of the famous twin Ardabil carpets, one of which resides in the Victoria & Albert Museum, and the other in LACMA. Central roundel medallion with stemmed lanterns adorning either end, and elaborate oblong finials surrounding each main contour of the central medallion. Quarter map corner spandrels mimicking the design of the central medallion. Repeating cartouche and pomegranate main border in alternating pattern and reconciled corners. Colors and shades include: Wine red, dusty cochineal red, mauve, oxidized copper green, and antique ivory. Condition notes: Even wear across, mostly down to foundation. Small scattered areas of inconspicuous stains. Machine binding mostly intact. Recently professionally cleaned ready for in-home use! Many years of enjoyment to come with this hand knotted vintage Indian Amritsar carpet made in India circa 1940's vintage. Size measures 9'6" x 14'4".
