:: Oversize center medallion with large scale palmettes stemming therefrom. Interior fills with outwardly bursting germinating plants and blossoms. Excellent balance between positive and neutral spacing in the ground, which is covered with elongated leaves, vinery, budded tendrils, and even a few serpents scattered throughout. Easily attributed to a Heriz attribution or Heriz area carpet, though likely closer to Bakshaish based on the range of coloration, phenomenal wool, and various minor design details, more closely aligned with Bakshaish. Vivid jewel and gem shades throughout in unrestored, unrepaired, original condition, exhibiting little to no signs of use. Colors and shades include: Sapphire blue, ruby red, navy blue, jade green, saffron yellow, blush, rose, pale terracotta, and more. Condition notes: Like-new, original full pile height even across. Original side cord selvages intact. Fully secured sides and ends. This rug is among a handful of carpets offered for sale for the first time in over half a century from a prestigious New England collection. Recently professionally cleaned ready for in-home use! Many years of enjoyment to come with this hand knotted Persian Bakshaish carpet made in Persia circa 1910's vintage. Size measures 11'4" x 15'5".
