Colorful checkered cypress tree centered by a palmette with finned outlines atop an allover field of charming, uniquely drawn pinwheels, geometric checkered designs, scattered birds and serpents, and miniature carpet motifs. Particularly unusual stylized feet at the lower end, uniquely and rhythmically drawn with apparent purpose specific to the region and intended use of the weaving. Reciprocating pawn design running throughout the entire border and upper Mehrab. Upper cartouche with stylized woven inscription. Colors and shades include: Chestnut red, madder root red, mallard green, dusty teal, aubergine purple, saffron yellow, and more. Condition notes: Areas of pile, knot heads and foundation. Tatter to sides and ends. Extensive repiling in varying degrees of expertise. Multiple large holes and torn areas on the sides, ends, and interior. Ideally suited as a display piece.
